is provided. The present method may also be used incooperation with existing takeoff determining systemsutilising engine thrust as the means of determining air-craft capability to takeoff. The authority of the variousaircraft takeoff criteria can be adjusted as required. Fur-thermore, the present aircraft acceleration regime maybe utilised with regard to adjusting existing engine thrustmeans for determining takeoff or cruise capability.
The present invention provides a method of op-erating an aircraft whereby actual acceleration of an air-craft is used as the direct measure of the capability ofthe aircraft to takeoff. Thus, a minimum takeoff acceler-ation is determined for an aircraft and then through ap-propriate sensing means for acceleration, actual accel-eration of the aircraft is determined and compared withthat predetermined minimum takeoff acceleration. If theactual aircraft acceleration exceeds the minimum takeoffacceleration then an indication such as a buzzer or signal
