My Two Best Friends

I have two really good friends named Jake and Tyler. We've been buddies since kindergarten and we do everything together. Jake and Tyler are both super cool, but they look pretty different from each other.

Jake is way taller than Tyler. Like, a lot taller! When we line up in the hallway at school, Jake is always at the very front because he's the tallest kid in our whole class. The top of Tyler's head only comes up to Jake's shoulders. Whenever we're walking together, it looks kind of funny because Jake is so much taller. It's like he's a grown-up and Tyler and I are little kids next to him!

But even though Jake is really tall, Tyler actually weighs more than him. Yeah, it's true! When we had our yearly weight check at school last month, the nurse wrote down that Tyler weighs 75 pounds and Jake only weighs 68 pounds. I remember because Tyler was bragging about being heavier than Jake for weeks after that.

Jake said it's because Tyler has more muscle from playing sports like baseball and football. Tyler is pretty athletic and plays outside a lot. Jake is more of an indoor kid who likes video

games. But I think it might also be because Tyler eats way more junk food than Jake does.

At lunch, Tyler always gets the chicken nuggets or pizza from the cafeteria. And then he buys ice cream and cookies for dessert! Jake just gets the salad or a turkey sandwich. He hardly ever gets any of the greasy foods. Maybe that's why he's so skinny even though he's really tall.

One time, we were eating our snacks on the playground and Tyler pulled out a whole pack of Oreos from his lunchbox. He offered me and Jake some but Jake said no because they're too sugary and unhealthy. Tyler just shrugged and ate the whole pack himself! He's always stuffing his face with chips, candy, soda...you name it. No wonder he's a little chubby.

I guess Jake and Tyler's different shapes make sense when you think about their personalities too. Jake is more laid-back and quiet, while Tyler is hyper and loud. Tyler is always running around and bouncing off the walls. He has so much energy to burn that it makes sense why he's solid and muscly. Jake would rather just chill out in his room playing video games all day. It's funny because people are always mixing Jake and Tyler up from far away since Jake is so tall and skinny and Tyler is short

and stout. But up close, you can definitely tell them apart. Especially if you look at their hair!
