My Awesome Weekend

Last weekend was so much fun! I had no school on Saturday and Sunday, so I got to do lots of cool stuff. Let me tell you all about it.

On Saturday morning, I slept in really late because I didn't have to get up early for school. I stayed in my pajamas and played some video games until my mom called me for breakfast. She made my favorite - chocolate chip pancakes! After I ate, I put on my play clothes and went outside.

I rode my bike all around the neighborhood for a while. Then my best friend Michael came over and we played some sports together in my backyard. First we played basketball and did lots of sweet slam dunks on my little hoop. Michael is really tall for his age so he can almost reach the rim. After that, we played soccer and took some wicked shots on goal. I'm a better soccer player than Michael is. We got pretty sweaty from running around so much.

For lunch, my mom made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for me and Michael. We ate them out on the patio while we had juice boxes. My dog Roxy was hanging out with us too, begging for scraps. After we finished eating, we played fetch with Roxy for a little while until she got tired.

In the afternoon, my dad took me and Michael to the movies. We saw the new superhero movie that just came out. It was so awesome! The superhero had to fight against these evil robots that were trying to take over the city. There were massive battle scenes with loud sounds and bright flashes of light. A couple times I jumped from getting scared, but Michael just laughed at me. I'll get him back someday!

When we got home from the movies, Michael's mom came to pick him up. I was a little sad to see him go. But then my dad said we were going to go out for ice cream! We went to my favorite ice cream shop and I got a triple scoop sundae with chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream. It had whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and a cherry on top. So delicious!

That night after dinner, my whole family watched a movie together. It was a funny comedy that had us all cracking up. We ate buttery popcorn during the movie. When it was over, I had to

go take my bath and get ready for bed. Even though I was tired, I didn't want the day to end.

On Sunday morning, my mom made french toast sticks for breakfast. They're one of my favorite special breakfast treats. After I ate, I played some more video games for a little while. Then my dad said it was time to go run some errands.

We went to the grocery store, the bank, and the car wash. Running errands isn't very fun, but Dad tried to make it better by letting me pick out a brand new coloring book and box of crayons at the grocery store. On the way home, we stopped at the park and I got to play on the swings and seesaws for a little bit.

For lunch, we had juicy cheeseburgers and curly fries from my favorite burger place. Then we had to rake all the leaves that had fallen in our yard. It was hard work but we had a huge pile at the end that I got to jump in! I'm lucky my dad likes to make chores fun instead of boring.

That afternoon, we had some free time at home. I played with my Legos for a while, building a big castle. Roxy was running around acting silly and making me laugh. A little later, my mom and I baked chocolate chip cookies together. I got to lick the batter off the spoon - it's my favorite part! Once the

cookies were done, I got to eat a couple while they were still warm from the oven.

For dinner, we ordered pizza from the best pizza place in town. We got a pepperoni pizza just for me because I'm not a big fan of other toppings. My parents got a veggie pizza for themselves. We watched another fun movie together while we ate the pizza.

After the movie ended, I had to get ready for bed again because I had school the next day. I was sad that my weekend was over, but I had so much fun! I can't wait for another weekend to come around again soon. Maybe Michael can sleep over next time and we can have even more adventures! Those are the best weekends.

My Awesome Weekend!

Last weekend was so much fun! I had been looking forward to it for weeks because I didn't have any homework or tests coming up. That meant I could relax and do all my favorite things.

On Saturday morning, I slept in until 9 o'clock. Normally Mom wakes me up at 7:30 for school, but on weekends I get to sleep as late as I want. When I finally woke up, I put on my comfy Paw Patrol pajamas and went downstairs for breakfast. Mom had made my favorite - chocolate chip pancakes!

After stuffing myself full of pancakes, I went outside to play. The weather was perfect – sunny and warm but not too hot. I grabbed my bike and went riding around the neighborhood. I saw a bunch of my friends outside too and we raced our bikes down the street. Jimmy Smith fell off his bike and scraped his knee, but he was ok.

When I got home, Mom said we were going to go to the mall to do some shopping and then out for pizza for lunch. At the mall, I got some new shoes with flashing lights and a Spiderman shirt. Mom tried on a bunch of clothes but didn't get anything. After shopping we went to Mario's Pizza. I love their pizza so much! I got a personal pan pizza with pepperoni and drank about five glasses of root beer. It was so yummy! We played some games while we waited for our food like seeing who could make the craziest face. Mom is really good at making crazy faces. When we got home, I asked Mom if I could have some friends over. She said yes as long as we stayed outside. I called

up Tommy, Michael, and Johnny and they came over. We played superheroes in the backyard for hours! I was Batman and they were Robin, Superman, and the Hulk. We had to defeat the evil Joker who had strapped a bomb to a tree. It was an epic battle! Finally it was time for my friends to go home for dinner. I was exhausted from all the running around and superhero moves. I came inside, had a popsicle, and plopped myself on the couch. Mom let me watch a movie before bed. I picked The Lion King because it's my favorite.

On Sunday, Mom let me sleep in again. I didn't wake up until 10am! For brunch, we had french toast and bacon. Mmmmm it was so good. After brunch, Dad took me to the park to play baseball. We played catch for a while and then had a home run derby contest. Dad hit way more homers than me, but I was starting to get pretty good.

When we got home from the park, I had to take a bath because I was really sweaty and dirty from playing baseball. I don't like baths very much, but I do like putting loads of bubbles in the tub and making a huge mess! After my bath, I put on clean pajamas and Mom braidedmy hair while we watched another movie together. We watched Toy Story this time.

Finally, it was time for bed. I was really tired from my busy weekend of fun! I gave Mom and Dad big hugs, brushed my teeth, and snuggled into my racecar bed with my stuffed animals. I quickly fell into a deep sleep, dreaming about all the adventures I would have next weekend. Weekends are the best!

My Awesome Weekend

Last weekend was so much fun! I did a bunch of cool things and had a great time. Let me tell you all about it.

On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was too excited to sleep in. My mom made my favorite breakfast - chocolate chip pancakes! After I ate, I put on my play clothes and went outside to ride my bike around the neighborhood. The weather was beautiful and sunny. I saw a bunch of my friends out playing too and we raced our bikes down the street. I got a little sweaty from pedaling so hard, but it felt good to get some exercise.

After riding bikes for a while, my friend Joey came over to my house. His mom dropped him off and we immediately ran inside to play video games. We took turns picking the games and playing different characters. My little brother tried to join in too,

but he's not very good yet. We had to pause the game a few times when he started crying! Joey and I had a blast battling against each other and beating all the levels.

For lunch, my mom made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with apple slices on the side. We ate quickly because we wanted to go back to gaming. But my mom made us take a break and go play outside for a little bit. Joey and I grabbed our baseball gloves and tossed the ball around in the backyard. We tried seeing who could throw it the farthest and highest. I almost hit a bird once!

In the late afternoon, it was time for Joey's mom to pick him up. We were sad he had to leave, but my dad promised to take us somewhere fun in a little while. My brother and I cheered and ran inside to get ready. We put on our swim trunks because my dad told us we were going to the pool!

At the pool, I splashed around and practiced swimming under water. My dad taught me some new strokes and I tried doing handstands at the bottom. The lifeguards blew their whistles at me a couple times, but I was just having fun! After swimming for a long time, we all got hungry and stopped for pizza at a restaurant near the pool. I loaded my slices up with pepperoni and parmesan cheese. So yummy!

When we got home that night, I was completely worn out from my busy day. I took a bath to get all the chlorine off, put on my pajamas, and snuggled up on the couch with my mom to watch a movie. I fell asleep before it even ended!

I slept in really late on Sunday morning. When I finally woke up, my parents let me have a big bowl of my favorite sugary cereal. Then my dad took me and my brother to the park. We brought kites to fly and I picked out the coolest looking dragon one. It took a few tries, but I finally got my kite way up in the sky! My brother's kite ended up getting stuck in a tree. Haha!

Later, my aunt and uncle came over with their kids. We had a big family barbecue in our backyard. My dad grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and my mom made macaroni salad, baked beans, and her famous chocolate chip cookies. I stuffed myself with so much good food! All the cousins hung out together and played fun games like tag and hide-and-seek around the yard. We made so much noise that I thought the neighbors might call the police! After dinner, we had a badminton tournament. The adults played against the kids and we totally crushed them! My uncle got really competitive and argued with the referee (my mom) about the rules. We all just laughed at him for being such a sore

loser. When it got dark, we had a mini dance party in the backyard and I showed off my finest moves.

By the time my aunt's family left that night, I could barely keep my eyes open. I said goodnight to my parents, put on my favorite superhero pajamas, and collapsed into bed. I was out like a light! That was definitely one of the most fun weekends I've ever had. I can't wait for another one!

My Awesome Weekend!

Last weekend was super fun! On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was so excited. I jumped out of bed and put on my favorite rocket ship pajamas. Then I ran downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast.

\"Good morning, sweetheart,\" said my mom with a big smile. She had made my favorite - chocolate chip pancakes! I poured a huge amount of syrup all over them and dug right in. They were delicious!

After breakfast, I went outside to play with my best friend Tommy from next door. We ran around in the backyard pretending to be brave knights fighting an evil dragon. I was Sir

Lancelot and Tommy was Sir Galahad. We battled the dragon for what felt like hours with our makeshift swords made from sticks. \"Have at thee, foul beast!\" I shouted as I swung my sword mightily. But the dragon just laughed and breathed pretend fire at us. We kept fighting until we finally defeated it by stabbing it right in the belly. Then we danced around chanting \"The dragon is dead! The dragon is dead!\"

When we got tired of playing knights, we set up a lemonade stand on the corner by my house. We used an old card table and spent ages drawing signs and taping them up. I handled the money while Tommy pitched in making fresh lemonade. A bunch of people stopped to buy some, including Mr. Jenkins from down the street. He bought two big glasses!

\"This is the best lemonade I've ever tasted!\" he said with a grin after taking a big sip.

For lunch, mom made us ham and cheese sandwiches with chips. I traded Tommy my chips for his apple slices because I'm not a big fan of apples. Right after we ate, it started raining really hard so we had to go inside and find something else to do. Tommy and I ended up building an awesome blanket fort in the living room. We draped blankets over the couches and used

tons of pillows to make it soft inside. We turned all the lights off except for my Paw Patrol flashlight and hid in the fort telling spooky stories. I got a bit scared when Tommy did his ghost noises!

Eventually we came out of the fort to have a snack. We made popcorn and watched a movie together. This was my favorite part - we watched The Lion King, which is my all-time favorite! I sang along to basically every song, especially \"Hakuna Matata.\" After the movie, Tommy had to go home for dinner. I felt a little sad because I didn't want the weekend fun to end. But mom said we could have a superhero sleepover that night! We ordered pizza and I got to choose the toppings - pepperoni and extra cheese. Yum!

Once it got dark, mom let us camp out in the backyard in a tent. We told more scary stories with the flashlight and looked at the stars through the tent window. I showed Tommy how to find the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper. It felt like we were the only two people left in the whole world out there in our little tent. Finally, around midnight, we fell asleep cuddled up in our sleeping bags. I don't even remember closing my eyes - I was so tired from our awesome day of playing and adventures. What a brilliant weekend!

On Sunday morning, I woke up and unzipped the tent. It was such a beautiful sunny day! For breakfast, we had chocolate chip pancakes again since they're my favorite. I savored every single bite.

After breakfast, Tommy and I played one last game of knights fighting dragons. Then sadly, he had to go back home. I gave him the biggest hug goodbye and told him I couldn't wait for our next sleepover. Weekends with my best friend are just the best!

That night, I went to bed feeling so happy from all the fun I had. I finally closed my eyes and dreamed about pancakes, dragons, and pillow forts. What an incredible weekend! I wish every weekend could be as awesome as that one.

My Super Fun Weekend!

Last weekend was the best! On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was so excited. I looked out my window and saw that it was a beautiful sunny day. I jumped out of bed and put on my favorite superhero pajamas with the rocket ships and planets all over them.

I ran downstairs to the kitchen where my mom was making blueberry pancakes. They smelled so yummy! My little brother Timmy was still asleep so I got to eat first. I poured a huge pile of sweet syrup over my pancakes. It was dribbling down the sides and pooling on my plate. Mmm...so good!

After breakfast, my dad said we were going to the park. Yay! I love the park. I ran upstairs to get dressed super fast. I put on my shorts with the pockets for collecting rocks and my t-shirt with the zipline on it. When I came back downstairs, Timmy was awake and being a grumpy grouch as usual.

\"Can we go now? Can we go now?\" I asked about a million times. Mom and dad were taking forever to get ready.

Finally we all piled into the car and drove to Edgewood Park. As soon as we got there, I raced out of the car and towards the playground. There were so many kids already there. The swings were totally full, but the seesaw was open. Timmy and I ran over to it.

Timmy isn't very good at seesaw yet. He kept falling off the minute I went up. Finally, I had to hold his hand the whole time and go really slowly up and down. It was still fun though! After a while, some older kids came over and asked if they could use the seesaw. We said okay since they were much bigger than us.

Next I went over to the monkey bars. I'm getting really good at them now. I can swing all the way across without my feet touching the ground at all! After that, I played on the big curvy slide for a while. Have you ever gone down a slide that twists all around? It's so much fun!

Around lunchtime, dad called us over to the picnic table where they had set out our food. We had PB&J sandwiches, carrot sticks, apple slices, and fruit snacks. After we ate, Timmy threw the biggest tantrum you've ever seen because he wanted to go home already. What a baby! Luckily, mom and dad didn't listen to his whining.

Instead, we walked over to the hiking trail that loops around the whole park. I found the most amazing walking stick that was taller than me! We saw squirrels and birds and even a family of deer munching on leaves. About halfway through the loop, we stopped at the creek to look for cool rocks. I found a couple with shiny flecks in them. Timmy tripped and fell into the shallow part of the creek. He was soaking wet and crying like crazy. What a mess!

When we finally got back to the playground area, the sprinklers had come on. All the kids were running through the sprays and getting drenched. I begged mom and dad to let me

play in them too. At first they said no because they didn't have a change of clothes for me. But then I cried and cried and they finally gave in. Getting soaked by the sprinklers was a total blast! We stayed at the park until it started to get dark. I was so tired on the ride home that I fell asleep in the car. When we got back, dad made foil packet dinners for us on the grill. We got to pick what went in our own personal foil packets. I picked chicken, potatoes, carrots, and lots of butter!

After dinner, we roasted marshmallows over the firepit in our backyard. I made so many s'mores that I felt a little sick. We played some board games and then it was finally time for bed. I zoned out during my bath because I was so exhausted. I dubbed Saturday the \"Best Day Ever!\"

On Sunday, we went to church in the morning. I had to sit still and be quiet for what felt like a million years. But at least I got to go to kids Sunday School, which is fun. After church, we had a pizza party at our house with grandma and grandpa. My dad's parents brought me a cool new art set with about a million markers. I spent the whole afternoon coloring and drawing. In the evening, we went to the outdoor swimming pool. It was my first time swimming this year since it's finally hot enough. The water was freezing at first but it felt amazing once I got used

to it. We played lots of pool games like holding-breath contests and races across the shallow end. When I got too cold, I sat in the hot tub for a while and drank hot chocolate. So cozy!

We didn't get home until late Sunday night. I was completely tuckered out. I took a warm bath and snuggled up in my bed with my stuffed puppy dog. Before I fell asleep, I promised myself I'd have just as much fun next weekend. The end!

My Super Fun Weekend

Last weekend was so awesome! I had such a great time. On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was too excited to sleep in. I jumped out of bed and put on my favorite Spider-Man pajamas. Then I ran into the living room where my mom was drinking coffee and watching the morning news. \"Mom, mom! Can we pleeeeease go to the park today?\" I asked, bouncing up and down. My mom laughed and said we could go after breakfast. Yes! I loved going to the park. I raced to the kitchen and poured myself a huge bowl of Lucky Charms cereal. I got marshmallows all over the table because I was eating so fast. Once I was done, I put on my Paw

Patrol sneakers and waited not-so-patiently by the front door for my mom.

Finally, we went outside and walked the few blocks to Elm Park. It was such a nice sunny day! As soon as we got there, I ran straight for the swings. I pumped my little legs as hard as I could to go super high. \"Look mom, look how high I'm going!\" I shouted. Going up in the air on the swings made me feel like I could fly.

After swinging for a while, I played on the slide, the seesaw, and the monkey bars. I loved doing monkey movements across the bars - I'm really good at it! My mom cheered me on from the bench. Then we went over to the sandbox and I made the most amazing sandcastle. Well, it was amazing to me! I shaped the towers carefully and decorated it with leaves and rocks I found. Just as I was putting the finishing touches on my castle, I heard a familiar bark. It was my best friend Sammy and his dog Rufus! Sammy's mom brought him to the park too. We said hi and then ran around chasing Rufus, throwing his tennis ball for him to catch. Rufus's tail wagged a million miles per hour because he was having so much fun.

Eventually, we got hungry so the moms brought out snacks - carrots, grapes, Goldfish crackers, and juice boxes. Sammy and I

plopped down on the grass and had a picnic snack while Rufus lounged beside us. After we ate, Sammy and I played superheroes, running around fighting imaginary villains. We made Superman flying noises and shouted \"Pow! Bam! Take that, Lex Luthor!\"

Around lunchtime, Sammy's mom said they had to go home soon. We gave Rufus one last belly rub, then Sammy and I had to say a sad goodbye for now. But my mom promised we could come to the park again soon.

When we got back home, my dad was just getting back from running errands. He had a surprise for me - a brand new kite! I was so excited. We ate some sandwiches for lunch, then headed back outside to the big field behind our house. My dad showed me how to get the kite up in the air and control it. It was harder than I thought, but I didn't give up. Eventually, I got the hang of it and that kite was soaring and swooping all over the sky! We took a break and my dad and I laid on the grass, watching the clouds and pointing out any fun shapes we saw. I spotted a few that looked like bunnies and dinosaurs. Then we untied the kite string from the stick and just ran around playing with the kite like a parachute, letting it carry us across the field. We laughed and laughed having so much silly fun.

That night for dinner, my mom made my favorite - tacos! With lots of cheese, salsa, guacamole and everything. My tummy was very happy. After dinner, we all cuddled on the couch to watch a movie together. I got to pick since I was the kid, so I chose The Lego Movie. My parents didn't mind though because they think it's funny too.

Partway through the movie, I looked out the window and saw it was getting dark. Then I remembered - it was also going to be a full moon that night! I really wanted to see it, so as soon as the movie ended I put on my PJs and slippers and my parents took me outside on the back porch.

The full moon was humongous and so bright in the sky! I waved to the man on the moon. We roasted some marshmallows over a fire pit while admiring the pretty moon. The fire crackled and it felt so cozy wrapped up in my fuzzy batman blanket. After s'mores, we went back inside and I fell asleep almost instantly, completely tuckered out from my super fun weekend at the park, playing with my kite, and seeing the full moon.

When I woke up the next morning, I was a little sad that the weekend was over. But I smiled remembering what a great time I had. I couldn't wait to tell my friends at school about it on Monday!
