摘要：A data processing system 10 includes an addressable main memory 12 forstoring blocks B of data D and a plurality of processors 14 interconnected via bus 16.Each processor 14 has an addressable secondary memory 20 for storing a number of theblocks B. The system provides for data coherency based on the principle of ownership ofa physical address of the data. At any instant only one of the main memory 12 andprocessors 14 is the owner of the physical address. Furthermore, only the owner willhave the correct or current data for the owned physical address and the ownership of thephysical address is dynamically changeable among the memory 12 and processiors 14.Therefore only the owner of a physical address aiways has the current value of the datafor that address.
