摘要：A method of forming a gel in a subsurface formation is provided whereby amonomer is polymerized in the formation in the presence of a crosslinker by an initiatorselected from azo compounds which are temperature activated over a range oftemperatures. The method is particularly useful to substantially terminate or at leastdecrease the flow of water from a subterranean formation into a wellbore penetratingthe formation.
