Unit 6 Our Local Area

Topic 1 There is a study next to my bedroom.

I. Teaching aims

1. Knowledge aims

能正确朗读下列词汇和短语并在实际的对话操练中加以应用:

beautiful, garden, bedroom, second, floor, and so on, upstairs, kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, first

能够掌握字母组合i+nd/ld, igh, -ing, l/ll, m/mn的发音规则并尝试辨音; 能够在情景对话中用there be句型描述屋内房间及基本摆设等; 能正确使用方位介词和介词短语on,next to等;

能够就“存在、建议”等交际功能的基本法进行交流与对话操练,如: (1) There is a study next to my bedroom. (2) There is a sofa, a desk, some books and so on. (3) There is/are … on the first/second floor. (4) —Why not go upstairs and have a look? —Let’s go. 2. Skill aims

能准确朗读并拼写本节课单词和词组;

能听懂谈论房间、室内摆设的表达,并做出恰当回应; 能就房间、室内摆设进行简单的交流;

能掌握字母组合i+nd/ld, igh, -ing, l/ll, m/mn的发音,并正确朗读含有这些字母组合的单词。 3. Emotional aims

能在学习的同时,热爱自己的生活环境; 能够与同伴积极合作,参与课堂活动,大胆实践。

II. The key points and difficult points

1. 能够在情景对话中,学会用there be句型描述各个房间及屋内基本摆设;

2. 在小组合作活动中,能掌握字母或字母组合i+nd/ld, igh, -ing, l/ll, m/mn的发音规则并尝试辨音。

1.能够运用图片、关键词、实物等进行听前预测; 2.能在学习过程中养成预习和复习的学习习惯。

Step1. Warm-up

方位介词太极拳

Step2. Review

让几名学生抽取卡片,表演在不同地点的动作,如学习、睡觉、洗澡、用餐、煮饭、看电视等,让其他学生逐一猜这些动作和地点。 Example:

T: What’s he/she doing? S1: He/She is watching TV.

T: And he/she is watching TV in the living room. T: Then what’s he/she doing? S2: He/She is studying. T: You are right. T: Where is he/she?

Ss: He/She is in the study. T: Follow me, “study”. Ss: study …

板书:living room, dining room, kitchen, garden, study, bathroom学生跟读

Step3. Presentation

1. 听录音完成2a.

2. 据2a 图片引出并练习There be 句型

T: Look at the picture. This is a study. We can say, “There is a study in the picture.” T: These are two bedrooms. We can say, “There are two bedrooms in the picture.” 板书:There is/are … 学生看图练习,展示 S: There is a garden in the picture. T: Yes. Is it beautiful?

There is a beautiful garden in the picture.

板书 beautiful 学生跟读,练习

讲解on the first floor. On the second floor学生练习 3. 完成2b

This is a nice home. There is / are …on the first/second floor… 4. 完成 1b.

Look at the picture in 1a. Guess the answer in 1b and check it by listening to the tape.

“What can you see in the picture?”, “Do you like the house?”, “What are they doing?”

Step4. Consolidation

1. 呈现1a 图片

T:What can you see in the picture? S1: I can see a bedroom. S2: A study. …

T: Where is the study? Look, it’s next to the bedroom. 板书 next to 学生跟读

讲解板书:Why not…? go upstairs, have a look

2. Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks according to 1a ( J=Jane, M=Maria )

J: Welcome to my new ______, Maria! M: Thanks, Jane. You have a beautiful ______. J: Thanks. I like my new home. M: Where is your _____?

J: It’s on the second _____. There is a ______ next to my bedroom. M: What’s in our study?

J: _____is a sofa, a desk, some books and so on. M: Great! I like ____.

J: Why not go upstairs and _____ _____ _____? M: Let’s go.

Step5. Practice

1. 完成1a.

Practice 1a in pairs. Then some pairs act out the conversation to the whole class. 2. 完成 1c.

Fill in the blanks and then check the answers. 3. 完成4a.

分组讨论字母组合 i+nd/ld, igh, -ing, l/ll, m/mn 的发音; 各组派代表展示讨论结果; 听录音核对发音; 听录音大声跟读。 4. 完成4b.

读4b猜测答案,听录音核对答案,全班跟读。.

Step6. Production

Your ideal home

画出自己理想中的家,并用There be 句型向自己的组员介绍,每组推选一幅好作品介绍给全班同学,最后大家选出最喜欢的作品。 This is my home. There is / are …
